Springfield, Illinois - The state capital of Illinois. Lots of Government things to see plus museums about Abraham Lincoln since he was from there.

A: No, car rental companies won't rent to you. If you're visiting someone in Chicago that is older, they could rent the car for you, but you wouldn't be allowed to drive it legally.

A: according to google maps, it will take between 1 hour and 48 minutes and 2 hours and 10 minutes [depending on traffic]. I don't believe there is any weekend morning rush hour, so i'd guess on the lower side of that range.

A: There are longterm lots near the airports. How long will you be gone? It's not that expensive really, unless you're going to be gone for, say, a month. For instance, there are lots near O'Hare that charge as low as $8.50 a day. And there are lots near Midway that are that cheap as well. And they both offer shuttle service to the airport from the lot. They will even wash your car for free if you ask.
Use the lots. It's better than trying to save a few bucks and leaving you car on some unfamiliar street in some unfamiliar neighborhood for a week or more.

A: If your legal address is Chicago you should be O.K. However, to be on the safe side, check with the local cops. Laws vary from state to state.

A: It would take you about 13 hours to get to teh Atlantic coastline at NYC..AZt that point you would have to give up since your car will notmkae it acrosss the Atlantic...OF course if you headed West towrads the Pacific coast which is more sensible since Australia is in teh southern Pacific Ocean tehn you could drive for about 2500 miles...Then at that point you would stop agian..So try either one and get backto us so that we know how long it took you

A: I have actually looked into this kind of thing for myself and there are none at this time. There are supercar rentals like lamborghini's and such but they are more a long term rental service like you join for a year for a couple thousand bucks and get so many weekends with some of their rare cars. I wish more upscale rentals were available. Maybe if you post a bmw rental wanted ad on craigslist someone would consider renting your theirs for a reasonable rate if they have a car collection and don't drive them all?

great dealership, they dont stalk you like everyone else & hassle you, but all of the car ion the lot have previously been smashed up & fixed....is that something to worry about when buying one of those cars..?? i mean they have such great deals, like no other dealership, but i still get a bad feeling when i look at the cars....just knowing that it has been into an accient...?? if someone has experience please tell.....
A: Are we talking salvage titles, or just cars that have been in accidents?
Regardless, the older the car was when the accident happened the better. It means the car was worth less, so the damage that would be economical to fix is less.
You should know what kind of damage there was, and how well it was fixed. Inspect, and have a body shop inspect it. You should also, if you can, get information about the repair. Carfax can at least tell you when a lot of accidents occurred, so that's something.
And remember: having been in an accident ALWAYS lowers the value of a car, even if the fix IS perfect.

A: Here in Indiana it's five days, but if there was no injury and the damage is under a certain amount ($1000 here, I believe), no report is required. Illinois is probably similar, but call the state police to be sure.
