My car alarm is acting crazy and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get it fixed in san antonio.

Q: can you rent a car anywhere in san antonio if you're only 20?
i'm visiting my boyfriend at his bmt graduation in san antonio in mid-july. and i was looking to rent a car, ill be flying down and then i wanted to rent a car to get around...but everywhere i look you have to be 21. i'm only 20..anywhere local in san antonio that you can be less then 21? or any way to get around this? or should i just take a taxi everywhere?
A: All taxis charge $1.70 for the first one sixth of a mile and $1.80 for each mile thereafter (plus gas surcharge, if applicable). Wait time and traffic delay is $18/hour. There is a $1 surcharge for all trips that originate between 9PM and 5AM. The minimum downtown fare is $3. The minimum airport departure fare is $9.00. Many outlying communities have minimum fares.
Given these rates the Via bus system is much ore reasonable. The rates for the bus system are:
Regular Bus & Streetcar $1.00, Express Bus Service $2.00, First Transfer Slip Free, Additional Transfers $.15.
If you are sightseeing or going to be traveling around the city a great deal they have a $3.75 all day pass.
The Via metro system will get you to almost anything you want to see, and if you can't get there, then you can get a taxi from a Park and Ride near your destination.
There are no national car rental agencies which will rent to private persons under 21 years old in the state of Texas. The exception to this is military service members who have orders authorizing vehicle rental, who can rent at 18. Michigan and New York are the only 2 states where the law provides for 18-21 y/o auto rentals. You might be able to rent a car from a local agency, but these small independent agencies do not, generally, have websites, so you would need to look them up online and contact them by telephone.

Just as a warning, so far this year, we are having a hotter than usual summer. July is normally much hotter than June, so be prepared with cool comfortable clothes. As an example, it was 101 degrees at 5 pm today and 89 degrees at 10 pm.
Have a great time in the city!

Q: Where can I get a quality tint job for my car in San Antonio, Tx, for "not a lot" of money?
Naturally, I want to get something that will last, and not turn purple since I plan on keeping my car untill It no longer works! But I need a good, low price. Where should I go? What should I look for, and what (or who) should I avoid?
A: OK, for starters, stay away from what are known as "dyed" films! Although these are cheap, they don't last because the dyes within this kind of tint, fades out over time. The UV rays of the sun cause the "colored dyes" within these films to fade into an unattractive purple color just like you mentioned, so dyed films are a big no-no if you want your tint job to last (dyed films have about a 2 or 3 yr lifespan before the bubbling and color change starts)! Secondly, make sure you get what is known as a "metalized" or "metal sputtered" film! Metal tint jobs not only keep out upwards of 60% of the sun's UV rays and heat vs. 30% for dyed films, but they last much much longer. The metal fibers that are embedded in the plastic film aren't altered by the sun's UV rays like the dyes, and so this type of film will last and last (upwards of 10 years or more)! Since most people don't keep the same car for more than about 5 years, a 10 year lifespan is more than most folks need! Whatever you do, please don't go to the tint place named after your momma! Their work is good, but the prices are outragous! A cheap, dyed tint with a 3 yr warranty on a 2 door car costs $120, and a better metal film with a lifetime warranty costs $200 (I was just quoted these prices by one of their stores, call them up and see for yourself)! They even quoted me $400 for what they call a "ceramic" tint job! Sure the idea of a ceramic film is neat, but it doesn't really keep out much more heat than metal film does, and the warranty isn't any better (how can you improve on a lifetime warranty anyway)! No sir, that's way to much to pay if you ask me, but then again they DO have to pay for all of those TV and radio ads, don't they? Try calling my friends over at MOFO's Vehicle Accessories. The owners have over 30 years of experience combined in the car and truck accessories business! They also have any and everything you could ever want for a car or truck including window tint! Their tinter has been been tinting for over 16 years AND they only charge $100 for a metal tint with a lifetime warranty
(instead of $200 like "mamma's" does)! You can call them at (210)400-0240 or email them at mofosaccessories@yahoo.com . They tinted my car and left it looking perfect! Good luck to you! I hope I helped!
Q: I'm traveling by car from san antonio to Mazatlan Mexico in December I need to know the best way to go .?
safest, want to stay on interstate, toll roads.
A: See 1st site below for recommended route. Add about 3 to 4 hr to the time it says as this site is always optimistic on times. See 2nd site for car permit info. Best to get the permit in San Antonio at the Mexican consulate as the car permit office in Nuevo Laredo is hard to get to and often has long lines that take hours to get through. See 3rd site for my fav. Mexican car ins. place. You will also need a Guia Roji, the Mexican road atlas...can buy it at large book stores or order on Amazon.com.
Q: What is the best place to tint your car windows in san antonio, tx?
A: Mother's window tint did a great job tinting my car!
Q: Does anyone know any car rental places in San Antonio that will rent to a 19 year old?
I'm 19 (almost 20) and I'm going to the Lackland area to visit my boyfriend in tech school. He might be in Camp Bullis, which is about 30 miles from base, and if he is there, I would need transportation to go see him. If anyone knows of any car rental places or cheap shuttles that could help me out, that would be great. Thanks.
A: There are several smaller agencies that will rent to anyone over 18. These include EZ rent a car and Rent a wreck. Unfortunately they do not have branches in San Antonio. Your best bet is to look for small independent agencies.
Q: Is car insurance mandatory in San Antonio?
And if it is, is there any way that police will know if you don't have any insurance?
A: YES! Almost every state requires you to have auto liability insurance. All states also have financial responsibility laws. This means that even in a state that does not require liability insurance, you need to have sufficient assets to pay claims if you cause an accident. If you don’t have enough assets, you must purchase at least the state minimum amount of insurance. But insurance exists to protect your assets. Trying to see how little you can get by with can be very shortsighted and dangerous. You can read the rest of this article here: http://www.knowyouragent.net/CanIDriveLegallyWithoutCarInsurance.htm
Police would know if you are stopped and don't have a card. Also, if you're in an accident, they will find out. In one of these cases, you can receive a no insurance ticket...too many of those results in a suspended license.
Q: Where can I get a used or new car with bad credit in San Antonio?
I am either looking for a used car that is only a few years old with less than 100,000 miles or maybe a cheap new car. I have no repos or bankruptcies on my record; but I have a low credit score. I've paid off a car before; but it's an older, high mileage car. I make over $1500 a month which I know most dealerships require. I am not interested in DriveTime or any other rip-off companies.
A: even if you have bad credit, you can still get an auto loan... there are companies that offer this, it's not as hard as it seems to be, you can find a new or used auto loan, something that fits your budget, you can even negotiate the price of the car of your choice...
Q: What is the best automotive shop in San Antonio, Texas?
I live in San Antonio, Texas and I need to take my car in for an oil change and to have it checked out to see if anything needs to be replaced. I'm looking for a VERY reliable shop with GREAT service. Does anybody know a good automotive shop in San Antonio, Texas? Thanks and God Bless!
My car is a 1994 Acura Integra LS, all stock.
A: I don't live in San Antonio. But I can give you the same advice I give other people. Ask people you go to church with. Ask your kid's school teacher. Ask your co workers. Where do they go. Most importantly why do they go there. Have they been taking their cars there for years? Do they take all their cars there? Have they ever had any trouble with that shop, and if so, was it remedied in a fair manner.
You are looking for a garage that has been in business for years and that people take their cars there regularly. Not just because they get a good deal, but because they get good work. And the shop stands behind their work. Don't be afraid to ask people where they go to. And when you decide where you want to go make sure you tell that shop "Mr and Mrs. so and so recommended you". This puts the garage on their best behavior because now they run the risk of upsetting 2 customers with one car.
Also try to get a feel of how long that shops mechanics have worked their. If the garage treats their employees well, the employees tend to treat the customers well.
Once you have found a shop recommend them to others as well.
Q: Used car loan in San Antonio- bad credit?
I live in San Antonio Tx and am self employed contractor. I have "risky" credit, how can i get a used car loan for 5500.00? Its difficult for the creditors to get ahold of all my clients except 1 who can verify income of 2000 mo before taxes, also i have tax return from 2006 that shows 12k approx. Any advise? I tried the credit union im a member at and was declined. Have repo on record from 1 yr ago.
A: I can't tell you how to get a loan, but I can recommend the place I bought my car from. They do in-house financing.
Dee Cees Sales on FM 78 in Cibolo
their phone# is (210) 659-8422
I was in a situation where I desperately needed a car and no one wanted to finance me because I had bad credit (no repo's though). I checked out several places that did "in-house financing" but they all wanted a large down payment or huge monthly payments or both. Most of the time I would go home do the math and realize that by the time I had finished paying off the vehicle I had looked at that I would have ended up paying twice what the vehicle was worth. (Blue book value on one vehicle I had looked at was $6,500, I would have ended up paying a little over $13,000 for it) I was almost ready to give up when a lady I knew recommeded Dee Cees so I decided to go check them out. They had several cars to choose from. So I talked to them and told them how much I was able to pay and they worked with me to find something within my budget. And when I went home I did the math to see how much I was going to be paying for the vehicle and turned out that I was only going to be paying a little over blue book value by the time I was done paying for it. I had a mechanic friend check it out and he said everything looked good. I was very happy when I left driving MY "new-to-me" used car.
Also keep in mind, I didn't get the car of my dreams but I did get a good car at a reasonable price with a low down payment and monthly payments that I was able to afford. They really do try to help you with your needs and won't take advantage of you like all the other places that offer "in-house financing".
Sorry if I have rambled on, but I just wanted to tell you about my personal experience with them. I hope this helps.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at kristinad2006@yahoo.com
Good Luck!
Q: Where is the best place to sell a car for cash in San Antonio?
I don't want to sell my car for $500 at a junkyard or for $1,000 at CarMax.
I already looked at KBB.com and its worth more than 2,000. CarMax told me they could give me $1,000 based on car auctions and I had a person who buys cars from auctions all the time and looked it up; he told me $2,300. I heard of CarMax ripping people off.
A: Be honost the best place in San Antonio to sell your car is to people instead of dealerships. Dealerships will never give you a fair deal on your car so looking for one would be wasting your time.
If your car is worth what you say it is then you should have no problem selling it here: http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/
You will find dozens of other people selling their car there as well.
Hope this helps
Q: How far is New Braunfels away from San Antonio?
My family is going to San Antonio, S. Padre Island, and Galveston. We thought of going to Schlitterbahn, but some of us are deciding which one to go to. I want to go to the New Braunfels one, since it's bigger, has more rides than the rest, has that river adventure thing, and a ride that was voted the best waterpark ride in the world numerous times. The problem is I don't know the distance between San Antonio and N.B. How long will it take by car to get from one place to the other?
A: It's really close to San Antonio. Probably about 30 minutes if Interstate 35 isn't too backed up. It sounds like a great trip. Have fun!
Q: Can anyone recommend me a good place to get my car windows tinted in San Antonio?
A: I used to work at KISS radio lng ago and far away in another time, and everyone there always told me Mother's Window Tint was the best for tinting. I took my car there and I believe that they are too. I had my ford mustang done at Jordan Ford and they did a really decent job as well.
